What is CBT?
Understanding Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a practical, structured, and time-limited form of talking therapy. It focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions), feelings, and actions (behaviours) are all interconnected, and how crucial they are to your overall well-being.
Unlike therapies that focus heavily on the past, CBT is firmly rooted in the present. It helps you identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours that might be keeping you trapped in a cycle of mental anguish. By breaking these patterns down into smaller, manageable parts, we work together to develop practical coping strategies and tools.
Ultimately, CBT empowers you to become your own therapist, giving you the skills needed to navigate life's challenges with confidence and peace of mind.
